It is quite likely that the new administration and the Australian government will either terminate or make major changes to the AUKUS agreement. Bryan Clark, a senior fellow and director of the Center for Defense Concepts and Technology at Hudson Institute, recently gamed alternatives to the submarine deal. He has returned with his conclusions, which point to much broader nonnuclear defense cooperation, not only with Australia but with our key Western Pacific allies.
